Helping Model

My brother and I had some fun today. We took TK and his two dogs (Russell, a mixed breed hunting dog and Joseph, a Pyrenees) out for a short hike through a nearby preserve. It's all flat ground that used to be farmland, so it's an easy walk and the only people who're ever there are fishermen in the very early morning.

The walk itself was fun, as usual, and I snapped some pretty nice pictures of TK. TK and Russell found a dead fox and tried to share it before we could get them away from it-- but that wasn't the biggest excitement of the day.

When we got back to the Jeep to leave, we got stuck. My 4WD isn't working properly and we kept getting caught up in the snow. After digging out the snow in our way, we had the problem of slipping on the mud, and then when we burnt through the mud, we found ice.

Needless to say, it wasn't a great time.

Lo, almost an hour and a half into digging and pushing the Jeep out and calling friends, a Jeeper passed by on the main road, whipped around, and came back to help us. I figured he'd use his Wrangler - which was MORE than equipped enough to do the job - but he mentioned that he lived in a cabin in the woods not too far from where we were stuck (basically next door) and he had an excavator to clear a path.

He was very excited to use his bobcat. We were very excited to be able to go home.
