Saying Goodbye
Well, the remaining male puppies are out of the house. Shirogane and Kurogane left me the first and second weeks of August. Fala/Kaneko (renamed Fionna) is staying with me until the fall, when I will deliver her to her new home in Seattle.
So, all said...
Kurogane is going to become a boar hunter in California. He is owned by a hunting friend of Nami's previous owner.
Shirogane is with Hakuzan Kennel in Colorado.
Kaneko (Fionna/Fala) will be going to live with my sister in Seattle as a biking and hiking companion.
Life is returning to normal in the house, but it's still a bit weird to have had, lost, and gained so many things.

Taro x Nami pupdate
We lost two of our puppies over the weekend. Seidou (green) passed away on Friday night in the care of the emergency specialists and Suzuishi (blue) passed away on Sunday in the same ER.
It is suspected by my reproduction vet that they had aspirated on food. The rest of the litter is doing well for now, but it sounds like they have also aspirated on food.
It's a bit depressing to see that my last post was my excitement for introducing them to solid food. I thought it was a good time because they were taking interest in mom's food and their teeth were coming in. It was a good way to help take some of the responsibility off of Nami, who was waning under the cost of nursing the whole litter with how small she is. Now, though the puppies have teeth and are eager to be on solid food, I have taken them off completely at the vet's suggestion.
I miss the pups very much. I still can't think of them or look at pictures without breaking down and the house is very quiet without their presence. Each one of these puppies is extremely special and every one was incredibly unique from the next.
My inexperience cost my puppies their life, and I feel incredibly guilty for that, but I hope that my story can be a cautionary tale for others.
